Wireless Technician/ Customer Support Representative

South Valley Internet is currently looking for a Wireless Technician/ Customer Support.
SVI is a leading provider of Communication Services and specializes in providing Broadband, Voice and other related services to businesses and homes in South Santa Clara and San Benito Counties. South Valley Internet has built and manages its own point to point and point to multipoint RF networks in addition to providing traditional copper based services. SVI is looking to add an additional Wireless Technician/ Customer Support person to our wireless team. In our work environment you will be exposed to cutting edge technologies. You must be a highly organized self-starter who is detail oriented and interested in working for a small and thriving company.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service and support to existing and potential SVI customers.
  • Installation of commercial and residential customer premise equipment.
  • Installation of equipment on towers and rooftops at heights of up to 50 feet.
  • Installation of antennas, cabling, connectors and grounding.
  • Termination of transmission lines including twisted pair and coaxial cables.
  • Installation and maintenance of outdoor network cabinets and racks.
  • Work safely from a ladder and or rooftop.
  • Install cabling, mounts and radios neatly and in accordance with building codes.
  • Install antennas and radios, run cable for both commercial and residential installations in high and confined spaces as well as contend with seasonal elements during outdoor installations.
  • Troubleshoot wireless network connectivity issues.
  • Document all installations utilizing SVIís CRM software.
  • Respond to Customer Support emails and calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Fully document all conversations with customers and open trouble tickets when applicable.
  • Ensure ticket resolution occurs in a timely manner.
  • Respond to sales inquiries.
  • Answer customer billing questions.
  • Interface with SVI's Sales and Engineering teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Clean, maintain and stock company vehicle with proper equipment.
  • Perform any other duties as requested in order to achieve team goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with RF.
  • Experience working with both licensed and unlicensed sectors.
  • Familiarity with Point to Point and Point to Multipoint networks.
  • Ability to use basic cable installation and hand tools.
  • Experience installing satellite or microwave radio equipment.
  • Ability to carry 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of how to safely utilize a ladder.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of both Windows and Apple operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking.
  • Experience working with popular internet browsers and mail clients such as Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Outlook and Thunderbird.
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Hands on experience using DSL to access the internet.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Solid documentation skills.
  • Ability to present information in an effective and polite manner.
  • Must enjoy working outdoors.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Unix and the CLI is a plus.

Special Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work 24/7.

Customer Support Representatives

South Valley Internet is seeking qualified individuals to be a part of our Customer Support Team. SVI provides technical support to a large subscriber base utilizing a variety of products, including Dedicated Circuits, Point to Point Wireless, DSL and email. SVI is a leading provider of Communication Services and specializes in providing Broadband, Voice and other related services to businesses and homes in South Santa Clara and San Benito Counties. Support to these customers is provided via telephone, email and in person. While working for SVI, Customer Support Specialists will be exposed to cutting edge technologies, used in a variety of applications. SVI is looking for an outgoing self-starter, who is detail oriented and interested in working for a small and thriving company.

SVIís work environment is a casual, yet fast-paced environment. Office etiquette, outstanding communication skills and the ability to work as a team is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of desktop applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Hands on experience using DSL to access the internet.
  • Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to conduct him/herself in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. ( Must be friendly, outgoing and courteous)
  • Possess the desire to resolve customer issues in a timely manner while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Unix and the CLI is a plus.
  • Telecommunications experience would be beneficial.
